I have horrible concentration/focusing issues when I'm PMSing, not to mention (obviously) that I feel like crap and am completely zonked. The problem is that the next 10 days are my PMS days and FINALS time. ack. I need to be able to focus for long amounts of time...I'm talking 12-hour study marathons...and all of my finals are at least three hours long. Is there anything I can do to focus/concentrate/function better during this time?

Hmm, other than the obvious pain medication (assuming that doesn't make you sleepy).

You should also drink more water, have more fiber and don't have so much caffeine/sugar. It'll hopefully help you wake up a little more.

Also, light exercise - like yoga/ breathing exercises (even though you don't feel like it ^.^)

Also, if you were at home I'd suggest a heating pad for the cramps. Since you'll be taking finals, I wonder if the icy-hots/heat pads that stick on sore muscles would do the same thing? *note: have not yet tried it*

Then layer your clothes - I dunno about you but I get hot & cold flashes ^.^ ESP during finals.

Some breathing excercises & more tips are found on the website I've included =)

Good luck!

I dont have this kind of problems but what I can say is thsi is a sticky situation!

I tried Midol when I first started my lil friend ( Period ) And it didn't help any of my major cramps but Pamprin is my idol!

Pamprim works like magic!

My cramps and backaches are gone withine minutes not hours!

Maybe some iron pills for focus and eat healthy foods and drink tons of water!

And try not to over do studying!

Read what you can then take a 15 minute break and relax your mind... maybe even take a soothing, hot and RELAXING bath!

Hope my advice helps you lots!

Drink cranberry juice. It helps, even though I personally don't like the taste, its great for any topic of the area. Drink lots of water and make sure to get a good nights sleep and shower the day before the test. If you have time, it would also be benificial to try to workout. Exersize can always help you feel better and have more energy. I do beleive they have concentration pills for perscription. Ask your doctor about any medication to help your concentration... or your mom. She might know something about what can help. I know that sounds weird but if you aren't in easy contact with a doctor unless you ask your mom first, just go to her and if she finds something, you may not even need to speak to the doctor.

Talk to your doctor about getting on a birth control pill. They are not only for safe-sex. Many people use them for PMS, cramps and moods swings. Your doctor probably has them best recommendation of what type to use but give it a try its better than nothing!

Hey... i know exactly what youre talking about...there really is not a whole lot you can do...Take deep breaths and keep reminding youreslf there's a lot that depends on the fact that you need to focus. Eat lots of protein. i hope it all works out!!!

if you're on the pill you can skip your period. do that by not taking your green placebo pills and just go right onto the next pack. don't recomend doing that too often though. but once in a while is fine
