[Question for Australians only]

I need to see a doctor regarding my sexual health. I am 19 but I still feel uncomfortable speaking with my parents about this. I am covered by the same medicare account that my parents use, and our cards have the same number on them. So, If I use my medicare card to pay, will my parents find out about it?

I have never used the card before so I don't know how this stuff works.

hi there

im Aussie too, and there isnt a way theyd find out as its bulk billed and free, so they send no statements at all, i can use my card or my husband and we have no account to see when weve been, only the dr has a record thats in your folder, but id say its confidential anyway and they wouldnt let your parents look at it anyway, good luck xo

No, that's your personal info, even if your name is on your parent's card.
