I am 2.5 months along and I have been told that sleeping on my back is bad for the baby. I need to know if it is true so I can find a new way to sleep.

I just had a baby five months ago. Hun, there is no way you can prevent yourself from rolling over in your sleep. Even when I was nine months along, I'd wake up on my back. I'd roll over when I caught myself, but I wouldn't worry excessively.

They say when you sleep on your back, it can cut off the flow of nutrients to your child. I would try to lie on your (left) side, but don't go all out. My baby is perfectly normal.

No it is not bad for the baby. You may find when you are further along that it is more comfortable to sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees. It will take pressure off your soon to be aching back.

It won't affect your baby now, but as your preganancy progesses it can be dangerous. As the baby grows, the additional weight can put a lot of pressure on arteries going to the uterus if you are laying on your back for long periods of time. (I recommend getting a body pillow and sleeping on your side curled around the pillow -- it was the only way I was comfortable during pregnancy.)

not when you only 3month. but once you get a little bit further along you shouldn't sleep on your back. a tip for sleeping comfortably on your side while preg. is to put a pillow between your legs. congrates and good luck!!!!!
