bleeding/spotting before period... answers PLEASE!?

Question

i should start my period wednesday or thursday next week.. and since yesterday i have been having spotting--not a constant flow but more like its there every time i wipe.. it is like a mix of blood then discharge i guess.. kinda brown basically but some red too. the part that looks like discharge is the brown.. i'm not sure why this is happening, it never has! ive looked online but all i find is stuff making me think i am pregnant... i'd like to not think that!

i have two kids already, and i never bled before my period or anything before i got pregnant with either of them.. so if it was related to pregnancy then i guess its just diff this time but i took a pregnancy test that came back negative, which it could be wrong i guess if its too early. im hoping its right though!!

any ideas of why this is happening??????

Your period is coming. It is if some blood from your last period never came out, it is coming out now because your new period is pushing it out.
