Question:
How do I become a gynecologist- in the UK?

I have always wanted to be in the medial profession, I just love working with people like that. I have thought that gynecology would be the right path to take. At the moment, I am in the middle of my GCSE's. I would like to know what grades I must get, and what I can do to stand out via extra curricular activities. I have already got a placement at a pharmacy and am hoping for a placement at Addenbrooke's- I have a useful contact. So yeah, I just would really appreciate some advice on how I should pursuit my dreams. Many thanks!

*gynaecology

*medical not medial

*pursue not pursuit

First thing, you have to know how we spell GYNAECOLOGY in the UK.

Then you have to get excellent results in your GCSEs, particularly Science, English and Maths.

All 'A' Grades or above.

After that, you have to study really hard to get your A Levels, you won't be allowed to study medicine without them. Three Grade A at least. Even then you might not be accepted. You can have all the contacts in the world but if you aren't good enough academically you will never get a place to study medicine. You have to start in medicine, of course, then specialise. It takes about eight years, minimum, from starting at Uni. Plus a Uni education these days costs an arm and a leg so you'll need a reliable source of funding while you're studying. Medicine is EXTREMELY competitive. You have to be a stand out academic to be allowed in to study it.

Good luck with that. Don't expect to be a specialist any time soon.

No matter what country you're in...getting into med school requires top notch grades. You should be getting A's and B's if not straight A's all together. Volunteering at a local hospital or becoming an EMT is a good start because it shows med schools that your interested in the field ...Also try and get into any internships or research studies over summer because that will help you out too! To lowest GPA you should have in college is a 3.5 and make sure you study your butt off for the MCATS because scoring a 45 is difficult too. I'm not trying to discourage you ( I too want to become a doctor) but I'm just making sure your informed about all the hard work your going to have to endure.

You need 3 A grades at A level ideally in the sciences. If you succeed it getting in to medical school it is a good idea to learn to walk before you try and run. See what specialties you like and have an aptitude for before making any decision.

Medical school! You would have to go to standard university for 4 years and get a degree in some sort of science first
