I had laparoscopy to remove a coil fitted wrongly which had exited my womb through my c-section scar in my uterus into my body. therefore, the coil was removed from a hole in my c-section scra on my bikini line. I have two scars now, one on my bikini line and one on my belly button. i wanted to ask when is it safe to resume sex?

If your doctor did not address sex during your post op orders, you could assume it will be fine to have sex. However, take it easy. If you feel anything out of the ordinary, stop. Then, get advise from your doctor.

So long as you are not bleeding and have no sign of any post op problems then you should be fine. As someone else said you if have any pain stop. Dont forget contraception now that the coil is gone. Make sure you are well relaxed when doing it and use a lube if needed, you dont want to cause any damage that might lead to a thrush infection or anything else like that. Your scas will be fine, just take it easy the first time and if you have any pain or bleeding after wait a week or 2 befor trying again and go to see your doc. good luck

My doctor said to wait at least 2 weeks, but wait for longer if there is any pain or swelling. But you should call your surgeons office just to be safe.
