i just got the test results back from my pap smear, and my doctor told me that it came back abnormal. i still haven't gone to the OBGYN, the appointments next week, but i'm sitll nervous on what that could mean. i'm only 18 and this was my first pap.
would could the possibilities be?
is it something serious?
Please, please understand that having HPV would not recommend you have maximum cancers. the probabilities are high fairly very small. as quickly as I had an odd pap years in the past I freaked... i did no longer tell all people because of the fact i replaced into specific it replaced into maximum cancers and that i needed to 'morn' myself for somewhat. while i ultimately broke down and informed my mom it grew to become out the two she and my aunt had the comparable venture... with *NO* maximum cancers ever exhibiting up. lower back as quickly as I had this the proceedures have been different... i do no longer understand in the event that they ever fairly did an entire out 'biopsy'... they only scraped some cells which they examined and located to be 'precancerous' (i'm guessing that equals HPV... i are conscious of it replaced into HPV and so i'm guessing that's what they meant by using this term). Then they did a 'freezing therapy' it fairly is now no longer achieved and had me get extra conventional paps for the subsequent 3 hundred and sixty 5 days or 2. It by no ability decrease back in any respect and it is been over 10 yrs. be satisfied to digital mail in case you think of chatting extra would help... yet fairly that replaced into the tip of the tale for me and from what I hear it fairly is *very generally* the case. :) wish that facilitates!

Okay, don't listen to that other person. Anytime you have an abnormal pap, which is very common, they will usually do a biopsy to verify it is nothing major. Don't freak out just yet. I have had two and they came back as nothing.
umm my mom always has abnormal paps the doc told her anytime it is abnormal its hpv . but sometimes its so small it will never turn into anything major ask for the hpv test .

It could be something as simple as a yeast infection, or a bacterial infection. But to be brutally honest...it isn't a good sign if your doctor wants you to come in. If it was something minor, he/she probably would have told you over the phone. Don't fret. I'm sure everything will be okay
Best of luck
