I have heard from many people and in 17 magazine that birth control helps with Acne, Regulation of Period, PMS, Cramping, and much much more, Is this true? I asked my Momma and she said that it was sort of unhealthy to take it for other reasons than to keep me from getting pregnant. I dont have sex but she said that the extra hormones might hurt me, is this true? If this is true any other suggestions?

Actuly no is is not unhealthy for a 14 year to take birth control depending on the case.

There are cases where a 14 year made need birth control a good example of that is a disorder called PCOS. PCOS cause women to have irragualar periods. Sometimes they miss periods or not have them for months. Also they sometimes grow facial hair and hair sometimes in places thats not normal for a woman. being overweight is a symtom, Also they can have insulin resistance. Diebiets if not kept under control. Even eventaly die of cervical cancer. PCOS also makes it almost impossible for a woman to get preg. So there are some cases where younger and older woman would need to be on birth control Contrary to what people may say in this form.

My ex-wife had PCOS.

Yes it's true. Some people that I know actually take them to stop cramps, regulate their period, and help to control birth. The extra hormones might hurt, but some doctors prescribe them for their patients. For more info, ask your doctor. The information I've recieved was from girls who were on it for all of the reasons you've given above.

So consult your doctor and/or do more research.

I dont believe that it is unhealthy at all. I actually started taking birth control @ 12 due to irregular and intense cycles due to endometriosis, where at my still young age, a hystorectomy is not an option. This is not the first time that medicines have been used for options outside of the purpose they were invented for. Hello rogaine people. BTW dont listen to advice about your body from a man with out a PHD... lol

It depends on how bad your acne and periods are... the pill has been shown to help with these symptoms. However, the pill does have some side effects. Weight gain and some other more uncommon ones. Check out a useful website! I was on the pill during my teens to help regulate my cycle, and it was great. No negative side effects.

at the same time as i became youthful (between 14-16ish) I used to have an somewhat inconsistent era besides. i'd get my era for 16 days immediately one month then no longer see it back for yet another few months. before each little thing my well being practitioner did not favor to positioned me on birth control yet then years later, they realized I had polyps in my uterus which could've been managed a lot less demanding if my former well being practitioner had began me on some form of hormonal therapy.. once you're 14 and also you've merely began getting your era in the finest 365 days or so, then i'd say carry off somewhat because your body does take time to regulate to regulate.. besides the indisputable fact that, once you've been getting your era for years, maximum def confer with a well being practitioner, abnormal classes have a tendency to be a symptom of an underlying project (like polycystic ovaries) besides the actual incontrovertible actuality that they somewhat somewhat somewhat suck.. with your age, he will likely grant you with something easy to apply like the NuvaRing.. Def stay faraway from something like the dep. Shot because those are meant for older women who really have adventure with birth control.. for my section, i became keen on Yaz (once they replaced it of direction), yet that were given severe priced rapidly and it didnt continually provide up my era on agenda.. Now i'm on Lo Ovral and so a ways it is been the most perfect with my era reguation and an excellent form of pharmacies have it on their $10 plan, besides the indisputable fact that it made me tremendously nauseous and pissy for the first 3 months i became on it .. Ortho tri-cyceline (sp?) made me move thoroughly loopy and that i have been given extraordinarily ill off of it, besides the indisputable fact that I did like the NuvaRing because it became easy, did no longer ought to take a pill each day and my mood became tremendously good in spite of the actuality that no longer each person is comfortable with the mind-set to apply.. i'd atleast confer with a well being practitioner, or in case you do not have coverage move to a planned Parenthood (i imagine they do somewhat low priced examinations and bc for prime college scholars, merely call first).. they're going to be properly more desirable cautioned in this difficulty than tremendously a lot each person on right here because no longer basically do they study you and easily get an concept of what your body desires, yet they could also get a sense on your temperament and may recommend bc that's maximum perfect perfect for you that individuals received't even list in this board.
