Question:
Best tampon variety for an athletic teen virgin?

So I've been having serious tampon issues lately. I have the Playtex Gentle Glide tampons and believe me they aren't gentle. They are a pain to put in first off (I spend like 20 minutes trying to get it right) then when they are in its just super uncomfortable. I can really feel it. I'm a swimmer so this is kind of vital. A friend uses playtex sport (also a swimmer.) and says they work really well. Are they easy to insert? Comfy? Cuz this isn't working!
Thanks!

They are easy to insert, but some women have complained that Playtex sport was not enough protection for a heavy day if the period flow was heavy or at it's heaviest. All cardboard applicators is totally off limits when it comes to comfort, but the Tampax pearl tampons have the best protection (for a heavy flow) and have this (pearl like applicator) that is designed for easy insertion. Good luck. Hope this helps. I give tampax pearl tampons the best rating, but if a heavy flow is not an issue for you, Playtex sport might be just as comfortable as Tampax pearl with the pearl like plastic applicator.

I started using tampons when I was a virgin, and haven't used pads since. There is no reason why a virgin can't use tampons. Virginity does not prevent tampons from being insert correctly into the vagina, and a girl does not lose her virginity if she uses tampons.

I use to use Playtex gentle glide as well and found that they weren't so gentle after all. I am very active running after two little ones all day and found that Tampax pearl was the best for leakage protection and were way more comfortable. They have a plastic applicator and are really gentle and easy to put in. Just remember to try and relax. The more you tense up the harder it will be. Try this and hope this helps.

What is your problem with them? Just stick the plastic applicator up there and push the top part. Pull it out and you are done. How is that so hard? I don't understand when people say they have so much trouble with tampons. They make my life so much easier. I heard playtex sport is awesome. I am a small girl so I can't use those because they don't come in a slender. Thats the only kind I can use. Why don't you try something lite like them.

You really gotta be patient with tampons. First time is always a problem. Yeah it will hurt too. Platex sport is good for sporty teens so u should try it. Just don't give up so easily.

Playtex Sport, I hear work well, but are no more comfortable than Gentle Glide. (it's the brand) Maybe try to use a smaller absorbency, or size. If that doesn't work, then try Tampax. I use them, and (tampax sport or pearl) they work really well! Good luck! I hope it helps.

Don't use any of that! It's bleached cotton and to put that in you is bad for your insides. There is a great alternative that I found when I had the same problem that you're having and never went back. I use "Instead Cups". Look into them: they are awesome!!! No leaks, no weird pressure down there from the cotton absorbing liquid and they can stay in longer than a tampon! They are also a ton cheaper. Good luck!

Playtex Sport, just because you're atheltic.

But for me, I prefer Kotex tampons.

Maybe you are using them wrong. You shouldn't feel it. Playtex sport are pretty much the same thing as gentle glide. Try tampax if you don't like playtex.

Well for some people, you have to use many different brands of tampons in order to find the right one for you, everyone has a different shape so you have to look for yourself

if you haven't been using tampons for that long, you will get used to it. No sweat.

And yes the sport tampons work wonders for me.

Use platex sport. I use those on my vacations and have no problems.

But you might want to google how to use them properly because they shouldn't cause you any pain and you shouldn't feel them at all.

I had to google how to use them when I first used one, because I was doing it wrong (I could tell I was doing it wrong because it hurt).

So please google, it's not as embarrassing to do as it seems...>_<

OB. but you might feel uncomfortable inserting them because there is no applicator .. it could be your problem, though, too. Sometimes it's awkward to get applicators goin' in there at the right angle, with OBs you can just... idk, get it in. Maybe try it, it's hard/weird to explain, hahah.

its probably hard for you to get in because you haven't popped your cherry just keep putting it in and once you pop it won't hurt anymore
