please don't worry too much about my answer, i'll just share my personal experience. I was 16 when my period stopped, and my parents wouldn't take me to the doc. at 19, i took myself after not having it for over 2 years. they checked everything and i was fine in the "gyno" area. then they asked me some strange questions...did i lactate? the answer was yes...i was def not prego, cuz i was a virgin, and as a very naive teen, i was extrememly embarrassed to even be at the gyno and to admit that i was lactating (just a very little, but it was there) anyway, they checked my hormone levels...specifically my prolactin levels and they were way too high. turns out i had a pituitary adenoma...which is a brain tumor. (it's not NEARLY as bad as it sounds...2 days in the hospital for a quick surgery and i was back to business in 2 weeks.) questions to ask yourself...
1. are you lactating
2. have you gained weight or gotten taller recently....sounds strange i know, but it's a relevant question. (since it has only been 3 months, i wouldn't have expected much change in these areas)
3. is your face really round all of a sudden, do you have a "hump" on your neck....not like hunchback of notredame...just like you have really bad posture.
4. are you extra flushed? red faced a lot?
basically, just have your doc check your hormone levels. if you do have this condition, you would be catching it very early, and can be given a pill to resolve it. i do not want to scare you, but speaking from experience whatever you have, you need to make sure someone finds out what it is. my tumor caused me to miss my period for over 2 years, grow a few extra inches and gain about 50 lbs. it could have been much worse....i.e. one arm growing bigger than the other...i do have one foot that is a half size larger....and if you wait too long it could cause permanent infertility, blindness, severe migraines, and diabetes.
anyway, after having mine surgically removed, it has been hard to get pregnant, but i have a beautiful little boy now :)
again, don't be freaked out..that is just my one in 100,000 personal experience. it sounds bad...but it doesnt' have to be. i hope you get your issue resolved, and if you feel in your gut that something is wrong...don't stop bugging your docs until you feel certain in your heart that you are okay :) good luck!
