Im 15 years old and i have periods since i was 11. Always they are in 5-7 days in a large amounts and first 2 days are very painful and then i drink painkillers like ibuprofen and Panadol.
Last 3 day is the problem. They started a few days than should be (usually every 23-24 days) they were after 20 days. In that day I knew they have started I used tampon with very high absorbency and drunk 2 panadol and 1 150g Diclac. The pain were very very painful, that i thought im gonna die or kill myself that was how much painful it was. And now is the 3rd day but they are as much painful as they were. But thats not the only problem, also my periods are in very small amounts. I have never had so small amounts of periods (blood).
I drunk Magnesium for a month would that be the reason?
Or should I see a doctor? Im really afraid from them but if thats necessary I can go.
If i go to see the doctor is it for free if i hav medical card? And where should I go because Im living in Dulbin,Tallaght

Awe, sorry to here that. I remember being you're age and having the most excruciating cramps ever. Yeah, been there done that, so anyways I do think you should definitely visit a doctor and even a gynecologist for that matter. I don't recommend you becoming too attached to those painkillers because of the risks associated with the liver and internal stomach bleeding. Though may I suggest natural alternatives? To be brief, reduce you're consumption of animal protein (i.e. chicken, beef, lamb, pork, etc.) and replace with soy protein instead such as tofu, soy milk and soy burgers because soy products help ease menstrual pain. Also be sure to take a high quality multivitamin everyday designed especially for women, and along with this take extra B-complex vitamins which come in supplement form as either B-50 or B-100 to help reduce heavy bleeding and discomfort. These supplements can be easily found at you're local health food store I'd recommend GNC but I'm not sure if that store exists in Ireland? Dong quai and black cohosh are also top choices in aiding with female reproductive health, but i strongly advise you to have a full medical check-up and eat more healthy nutritious foods if you don't. Reduce you're intake of sodium when menstruating, drink plenty of water and be sure to get moderate amounts of exercise when you don't have you're period as I don't think you'd want to exercise went its that time of the month-- I know I don't. I'm not sure if drinking magnesium could cause painful menstruation. It's a mineral supplement, right? Bottom line, you're periods sound irregular and the doctor might prescribe you some form of birth control pills to regulate them, but you should do more research into natural alternative medicine. Sorry, I'm unaware of the health system in Dublin and something tells me you haven't seen a doctor in a long while. Try contacting a local hospital or healthcare center-- since you're in the city it should be fairly easy, I think. I really do hope this helps you...

Sorry Luv, you definitely definitely need to see a doctor. I understand your fears - I am scared of doctors too, but the pain you have described is not normal and you need to get checked to find out its cause.

If you call the surgery you go to and ask them about your medical card and how much an appointment is they will be able to tell you. They answer those types of questions all day.

I couldn't tell you where to go, all I can suggest is heading to the nearest one and seeing how you go with the doctors there. If you are not comfortable you can always go to another and another until you find someone you like.

i could come across a table with a gaggle of intimidating little ones with an open seat and attempt sitting down, threat is you will make new acquaintances as long as you're actually not socially awkward. good success
